Wynn was raised in Orange County, California. He received a bachelors degree from Long Beach State and his doctorate from Virginia Tech.

He was President of The Teamwork Group for 6 years. He and his wife Karen have been married 13 years, moved to Fort Collins in 1989, and are raising two active daughters, Laura Jo (8), and Kyndall (2). As a family they enjoy running, cycling, skiing, and spending time with friends.

Wynn is actively involved in Foothills Rotary, has served on community boards, and currently serves on a task force to build a new Catholic high school in Northern Colorado. He is a member of Fort Collins Board of Realtors, Colorado Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
